About Charleston Miles

Whenever Jimmy Buffett is out and about, you can bet that you will see a very large man following him around or standing nearby keeping a close eye on the area. That man is his bodyguard Charleston Miles.

We ran into Charleston throughout the weekend when we were in St. Bart's for the Le Select 60th Anniversary celebration in November 2009. We were watching a band play at Le Select from across the street and he was standing just outside. I approached him on a dare and asked if he was Charleston. He said yes and was very nice. I asked him if Jimmy was around and he said no. I knew he was somewhere in sight, but he must have been wearing a disguise. The morning after the show we were having crepes at the Le Creperie and he was sitting at the table behind us with one of the tour managers. We managed to snap the following photos, although they are only side-shots...
