Part 11: Snorkeling and Diving at The Indians

We left Soper's Hole on Tortola and soon entered the Sir Francis Drake Channel. We sailed along the northeastern side of St. John, all the way to The Indians for snorkeling and diving.



The Indians are a set of rocks sticking up out of the ocean near Pelican Island. They are a diving and snorkeling hot spot, and attract a large number of boats each day. The water is crystal clear, and the reef comes up from the depths to just inches below the water's surface. There are depths that everyone can feel comfortable with, whether diving or snorkeling. Bill, the other Bill, and Kristian, the Breanker captain, opted to dive, while the rest of us snorkeled.



The underwater scenery was breathtaking. We saw Parrot Fish, Barracuda, Trumpet Fish, Grouper, and many other fish. After a few hours in the water, we were all getting hungry (and thirsty), so we motored a short distance from The Indians to tonights stopping point - The Bight Bay on Norman Island...
