Part 4: A Fun Evening and Night in Cane Garden Bay, Tortola

Saturday, 19 February 2011 (continued)

For happy hour, we went back down to Myett's on the beach. Myett's was well known for its happy hours, and was a great spot to watch the sunset over St. Thomas.

This evening, Kap-Eye (David Kapus) was playing, along with a guest guitarist. While he was playing, drinks were two for one, so the Presidentes were flowing. Kap-Eye was a fun performer because he let the crowd come up and play a variety of percussion instruments. One guy in the crowd was actually wearing a wash-board tie, which he played along with the music.

The best part of the evening was the unbelievable Cane Garden Bay sunset. We've seen a lot of breathtaking sunsets in the Caribbean, but for some reason, this one really topped them all.

After happy hour was over, we had dinner at Myett's. Yea, I know, we had to walk about 10 ft. Vacation is tough. Bill ordered his free bottle of wine, from his Drinking Man's Guide to the BVI, and shared it with us. Then we all shared some dessert.

After Myett's, we headed down to Quito's, hoping to hear some live music. The scheduled reggae band canceled, so the bartender played some Bob Marley over the PA system. We had a great night of dancing and partying.

Eventually we made it back up to Agapé for the night. Tom and Donna had a bottle of coconut rum on ice waiting for us. It was a perfect ending to a great, adventure-filled day.
