Part 10 - B.V.I. Sailing Trip - 18 Feb 2011 to 27 Feb 2011
Part 10: Soper's Hole, Tortola
Tuesday, 22 February 2011 (continued) Soon after our lunch on White Bay, Jost Van Dyke, we packed up and set sail for our next destination. We originally planned on returning to Cane Garden Bay, but changed our minds because of the rough water. Midway there, we headed back south and went between Great Thatch Island and Steele Point on Tortola, and into Soper's Hole on West End, Tortola for the rest of the night. As we pulled into the harbour, we stopped at Jolly Roger Inn for a quick drink. We then anchored and dinghied over to Frenchman's Cay for a few more drinks at Pussers Landing and some shopping. After quenching our thirst, we headed back to the boat. We were in Soper's Hole, which is a natural harbour surrounded by Frenchman's Cay on the south, Tortola on the north, and Great Thatch Island & Little Thatch to the west. The sunset was as beautiful as ever this evening. Our dinner was wonderful, and the Key Lime pie really topped it off. After dinner, the group took a taxi back to Cane Garden Bay so that everyone had a chance to experience Happy Hour at Myett's. Tiffany and I were beat, so we opted to stay behind on the boat. The stars were again as brilliant as ever, and we somehow managed to stay up until they came back on the dinghy. Not long after they arrived, we managed to summon enough energy to take ourselves to bed for the night.
Wednesday, 23 February 2011 We awoke this morning to another tasty breakfast. After everyone got their fill, we got the boat ready and left Soper's Hole, West End, Tortola, destined for some great snorkeling and diving at The Indians.
