Geographic and Political Considerations

Anguilla is an overseas British territory. It is a part of both the Lesser Antilles (the smaller islands of the Caribbean) and the Leeward Islands groups. The island is a small, narrow strip located just a short ferry ride away from the northern, French side of St-Martin. East of Puerto Rico and east-southeast of Florida on the United States mainland, it is basically near the far north-eastern portion of the Caribbean Islands.
