We recommend flying into Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL), the largest airport in Hawaii, located in Honolulu on the island of Oʻahu. From HNL, ride share services such as Uber and Lyft are readily available. A one-way trip to downtown Honolulu is about $20 and takes roughly 15 minutes. Many hotels also offer airport transfer shuttles, so we encourage you to reach out directly to your hotel for details.
Once you’re in downtown Honolulu, you’ll find plenty to see and do within walking distance, there’s really no need to rent a car if you’re staying nearby. That said, if you’d like to explore other parts of Oʻahu during your trip, you may want to consider renting a car for a portion of your stay. We have found both Turo and Enterprise to be reliable options on the island.
